This helps to ensure that the finish is of high quality and performance will last for a long time. The sprung lever can also be shortened to fit more locks. This is useful in doors that are narrower, where the cylinder is further back from the door. A shortened lever is also an ideal choice for doors where the latch could be opened by a thumb turn located on the inside.
Lever Pad
A Lever Pad upvc door handle operates differently than lever handles found on most doors. These handle types are either operated by a single spindle or by two spindles inline or offset. They are commonly used on UPVC doors with double glazing. They come in a variety of finishes and variations.

All of the UPVC handle lever pad styles are supplied with screws and a spindle which allow them to be fitted on an existing or new uPVC door. The backplate fixation centers of 211mm permit a larger handle, which is usually a benefit when replacing a damaged or old multi-point door lock mechanism. The levers for these handles have a spring, which solves the issue of handles for doors that slide out of their horizontal position when they are not being used.
It is important to ensure that the PZ dimensions of both the multipoint lock and the uPVC doors when selecting the replacement UPVC spindle and handle. This measurement is often known as the handle centre or 'cylinder centres and is an essential aspect of matching up the correct handles.

This prevents draughts from entering the home. Euro Cylinder
Cylinder locks can be found on uPVC and other kinds of doors. They operate by using a key to unlock a cylinder that will reveal pins that can be aligned with those in the lock body and allow them to rotate an revolving cam, opening the door. Euro cylinders can be fitted with up to six pins, with both internal and external doors typically having different levels of security.

The selection of a cylinder is essential. It's dependent on the use that your doors and handles will receive. For instance, doors that are external must be secured with an extra secure cylinder, whilst internal doors can be secured using a standard cylinder. Additionally, certain cylinders have extra features which can enhance security, for instance anti-drill and anti-bump characteristics.
A euro cylinder should be measured accurately to ensure it's the right size for your door. The cylinder should be measured from the central fixing screw hole to the end of the cylinder including the thumb turn if you have one. It is recommended to do this while the lock is in place however, if this is not feasible, you can take it off and remove it to take measurements. A cylinder that protrudes beyond the handle and escutcheon could be susceptible to attacks like lock snapping, so it is essential to make sure it's not too long.
Most newer cylinders have been constructed with anti-drill and bump resistance features included in their design. They are designed to decrease the chance of attack by forcing cylinders to rotate in a new direction. This will help deflect the attack, and ensure your door is secure.

A specially designed tool is used to break the break line of the lock and the front of the cylinder is snapped off. This is a lot faster and easier to achieve than gaining access through a multipoint lock and leaves no evidence of a break-in, which can impede an insurance claim.
